The US Geological Survey reported two earthquakes today:
The first, of a 4.3 magnitude, occurred in the San Francisco Bay Area, 25 km east-southeast of San Jose, California, on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 17:40:29 UTC, at 10:40:29 AM at the epicenter.
The second earthquake, of 5.8 magnitude, occurred more than five hours earlier in Alaska, with the epicenter in the Andreanof Islands, at 12:11:52 UTC, at 03:11:52 AM at the epicenter.
No victims were reported so far for any of the two events, but it is feared that more earthquakes may follow soon, as the geological formation known as the Pacific Rim has been active during the past days.
